BIO:

Denmark, 1991. Lead-vocalist Thomas A.G. Jensen is looking for people to start a death-metal band. He joins with bass-player Brian Hansen who was also on the same journey. The very first step of the band’s journey, and 1993 brought about the birth of the mighty SATURNUS. An act considered by fans and media one of the main cornerstones of Death Doom Metal, always a crucial reference within the genre and ever increasing their fan-base with each release and each live performance.

Since 1997, Saturnus has been building a solid legacy of doom, crafting a catalog of works that have positively attracted media and fans of which the foundations lay in “Paradise Belongs to You” (Euphonious Records, 1997) and the epic performance in front of 3000 fans at the Roskilde Festival (the anthems “Christ Goodbye” and “The rise of Nakkiel” were featured on “For the Loveless Lonely Nights”, Euphonious Records, 1998). “Martyre” (Euphonious Records, 2000) made Saturnus’ path converge with Flemming Rasmussen’s, the legendary producer of iconic and everlasting works like Metallica’s “Ride the Lightning”, “Master of Puppets” or “…And Justice for All”. HE would produce this album in his second home, Sweet Silence Studios, and would produce the next work as well, “Veronika Decides To Die” (Firebox Records, 2006). This record has been recently released again by Prophecy Productions in an amazing Art-book format with extra tracks. European tours started to happen, and shows in countries like Moldovia, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, or Russia turned to be a tangible reality. The arrival of “Saturn in Ascension” (Cyclone Empire, 2012, also produced by Flemming Rasmussen), meant huge promotion maneuvers in many festivals like Copenhell, Brutal Assault, Artmania, among many other prolific stages. Through extensive touring all over the years to come, the band kept on receiving the highest praise from global media and fans, being the key element for opening more doors and shows in many different countries and with epic bands within the genre. Due to the intensity of their shows and their attitude, Saturnus has been featured in all the major metal publications and among countless webzines world-wide.

After finding the right people to feed the beast, Saturnus is now stronger and more united than ever before. Setting their sights on the future for the next leap future than before. A new deal with Prophecy Productions and the subsequent release of ‘The Lighthouse Session’ (Prophecy Productions 2022) have set the tone with the ‘Before The Storm’ 2022 European Tour and the release of the long-awaited new album ‘The Storm Within’ in Q2, 2023. After rumbling and demolishing stages like Copenhell, Brutal Assault, Prophecy Fest and many other fests and shows in 2023, the path is ready to face the next European Tour and many more endeavors to come.  Depicted as the perfect gathering of melancholic harmonies with epic passages and tones along with crushing textures and doomed soundscapes, Saturnus is telling you all to be ready. Be ready for more.  Be ready for the storm to come.
